Our Mission

Discoveringmoorer2life (DM2L) exists to transform lives and communities by empowering individuals affected by chronic illness, rare disease, mental health challenges, and health inequities. Through education, research, advocacy, leadership development, and community engagement, we equip people with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to become powerful advocates for themselves and others.

Rooted in lived experience and driven by a commitment to health equity, we challenge systemic barriers, amplify underrepresented voices, and develop innovative, evidence-informed solutions that improve lives, strengthen communities, and inspire lasting change.

Our Commitment

We believe that every person deserves the opportunity to live with strength, dignity, purpose, and hope. We are committed to advancing health equity, expanding access to culturally responsive care, and building communities where lived experience is valued, leadership is cultivated, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Organizational Promise

We fight for equity.
We stand for community.
We lead through education and research.
We empower through lived experience.
We rise together to create lasting change.

We envision a more equitable, just, and diversified healthcare system inclusive of all illnesses regardless of socioeconomic status. A system where healthcare workers honor ethical principles and cultural competence as a standard of care.

-Angela Adams

"Cynthia has supported me when my warrior was in crisis. Her empathetic insight and guidance gave me hope when I felt all alone in this journey. As she and her husband Andre build a movement of health equity, we are with them all the way."

- Margery Knowles
